PPSC Recruitment 2012 – Apply Online for 160 Various Vacancies:
Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) has issued notification against
recruitment of 160 various vacancies. For the purpose of selections
candidates will have to appear for Punjab State Civil Services Combined
Competitive Examination (PSCSCCE) 2012. Eligible candidates may apply
through online mode for the Preliminary Examination on or before
08-10-2012. Other details like age limit, educational qualification,

Names of the Posts:
1. Punjab Civil Service (Executive Branch) – 30 vacancies
2. Deputy Superintendent of Police – 20 vacancies
3. Excise & Taxation Officer – 30 vacancies
4. Tehsildar – 09 vacancies
5. Food Supply and Consumer Affairs Officer – 25 vacancies
6. Block Development & Panchayat Officer – 28 vacancies
7. Assistant Registrar Co-operative Societies – 11 vacancies
8. Employment Generation and Training Officer – 07 vacancies
Age Limit: Candidates’
age must be between 21 years to 37 years. Cutoff date for determining
age limit would be 01-01-2012 and for Deputy Superintendent of Police
post, candidates age must be between 18 and 28 years. (Age relaxations
will be extended as per Govt. rules).
Educational Qualification:
Candidates should possess Graduation in any discipline from recognized
University and Punjabi of Matric or its equivalent Standard.
Application Fee Details:
SC/ST of Punjab and Other States and Backward classes of Punjab would
require to pay application fee of Rs. 375 for Preliminary and Rs. 500/-
for Main Exam. EXSM are exempted from payment of fee. All other category
candidates would require to pay application fee of Rs. 1000/- for
Preliminary and Rs. 2000/- for Main Examination. Fee must be paid in
form of downloadable Demand Draft in original issued by a branch of
State Bank of India or State Bank of Patiala, drawn in favour of the
Secretary, Punjab Public Service Commission, and made payable at
Patiala.
Selection Process:
Candidates will be initially shortlisted on the basis of marks obtained
in Written Test which will again be followed by Viva-voce and document
verification for the purpose of final selection.
How to Apply:
Candidates would require to apply for the preliminary examination only
through online mode on or before 08-10-2012. After submission of online
applications candidates would require to take the print out of online
application and DD and make payment. Further, after payment candidates
must send the print out of application and payment receipt by post
within 7 days of application.
Instructions for Online Application:
1. Candidate must have a valid e-mail id and must have scanned the
photograph and signature before starting the online application process.
2. Log in to www.ppsc.gov.in website and select the current notification’s link from the scrolling list of Announcements.
3. Click on click here to Fill Online Application Form for Preliminary Competitive Examination of PSCSCCE-2012 link.
4. Read the instructions, check the check box and click on ‘Next’ button.
5. Fill all marked details carefully and click on ‘Next’ button.
6. Fill all the marked details also in the following page and upload photograph and signature at the places provided.
7. Click on ‘Submit’ button and take the print out of application form and of system generated Demand Draft.
8. Retain the registration number and make payment using the DD and post
the form and DD to The Secretary, Punjab Public Service Commission,
Baradari Gardens, Patiala-147001.
9. On the envelope don’t forget to mention Application Form for PSCSCCE-2012 (Registration No _______).
